Weekend update: happy (late) Memorial day!

I want to primarily give a huge thanks to all vets, past and present, who do or have served our country. It is awesome to me that our service men and women are so brave as to risk their lives for our country. I thank God for all of you.

We had a phenomenal three-day weekend. If you know the automotive industry, you know that my husband doesn't get many three-day weekends. So this one was especially special! Saturday was a nice long walk followed by some time watching Gage play and watching some Rob Dyrdek's Fantasy Factory. Ridiculously good times. Sunday we did some laundry then went to a BBQ at our friend Andria and Ben's house.

Monday was a day we had been planning for a while, a little cookout with Brian's dad and my parents. We all loaded up and headed up to Golden Gate Canyon State Park. It was a pretty nice day except for a very cold wind and a kiddo who thought a nap wasn't necessary. We had a nice cookout, but we weren't able to hike, due to the business of our sleep deprived, wind blown son. Gage ended up having a great time just playing with a pan and some rocks. All of the adults had a blast, of course.

It was a nice, relaxing weekend with family and friends. Just the kind I like the most! We had hoped to get together with our friends Alecia and Ari, but they had lots of other stuff going on, so hopefully we will see them soon!

Today was the start of a new tactic with Gage. We are going to spend two weeks primarily at home, adhering to a fairly strict schedule of wake time, meal times, nap time, and bedtime. We are hoping that this will lead to more structure and easier bed times. We will also adhere to a stricter bedtime routine. The theory is that these changes will lead to easier sleep training, next time around. We shall see. Bedtime was at 9:00 PM, it is now 9:14 and he reflects no desire to sleep. Sigh. If I remember tomorrow I will post our schedule so you can see.
